overview
Forza is a minimalist fitness app designed to help users track weightlifting progress without interrupting their workouts. I created Forza after struggling to find a workout tracker that didn’t require heavy data entry mid-session.

PROBLEM
Existing fitness apps were cluttered and overcomplicated—full of features that demanded too much attention during workouts. I wanted a faster, cleaner way to log progress without breaking focus in the gym.
PRODUCT STRATEGY
I focused on building a streamlined MVP that prioritized speed and simplicity over feature bloat.
Core Principle: Minimal interaction during workouts
Design Goal: Deliver only the essentials, and introduce advanced features through progressive disclosure over time
KEY FEATURES
• Quick-add workouts and sets with default weight/reps to minimize taps
• Simple, clean interface designed for one-handed use during training
• Placeholder for future features like video lift recording for technique analysis, hidden until users showed engagement
DESIGN APPROACH
• Focused on a high-contrast, distraction-free UI that works well in dim gym lighting
• Used clear typography and large tappable targets for fast logging
• Designed interactions for maximum efficiency—logging a set took <3 seconds

IMPACT & LEARNINGS
• Built a working prototype that users found intuitive and refreshingly minimal
• Learned the power of scoped MVPs to validate product-market fit
• Reinforced the importance of context-aware design—minimizing input when user focus is elsewhere (in this case, on lifting)
REFLECTION
This project sharpened my skills in solo product thinking, lean UX, and designing with real-world constraints in mind. It also reinforced that sometimes, the best product is the one that does less—better.
